Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients with compassion and clinical excellence
• Perform triage assessments and prioritize care for laboring and obstetric patients
• Monitor fetal status using AWHONN fetal monitoring standards and respond to changes promptly
• Circulate and recover patients during and after C-sections, ensuring safe perioperative care
• Titrate IV drips such as Pitocin and magnesium per unit protocols
• Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to maintain AWHONN-recommended staffing ratios and high-quality outcomes
• Participate in unit orientation and preceptor shifts to integrate into the team quickly

Qualifications

• Current RN license for Colorado (required)
• Minimum 1 year of LDRP (Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum) experience within the last 3 years
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced fetal monitoring OR C-EFM, and NRP
• Comfortable with antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum care, triage, and C-section circulation/recovery
• Experience titrating Pitocin and magnesium drips
• Proficiency with EPIC charting
• Willingness to be in-state for the week of orientation and submit driver's license as requested
• Prior travel nursing experience is preferred but not required

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• AWHONN fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Neonatal resuscitation (NRP)
• Triage assessment and prioritization
• Perioperative support for Cesarean deliveries (circulating and recovery)
• IV/drip titration and hemodynamic monitoring
• EPIC electronic charting proficiency
• Ability to work independently on night shift and collaborate with day teams
• Familiarity with couplet care (mother-baby) and acuity-based staffing
