Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in the acute care setting to determine rehabilitation needs and baseline function
• Develop individualized care plans that target meaningful functional gains
• Deliver therapeutic interventions across orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary cases
• Use and train others on patient lifting equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove) to ensure safe mobility
• Document assessments, interventions and progress clearly and promptly in Cerner PowerChart
• Supervise and coordinate therapeutic care with PTAs, OTs, COTAs, speech therapists and rehab techs
• Communicate evaluation results and progress to patients, families and the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy (required)
• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (must have)
• BLS certification (required)
• At least 1 year acute care experience preferred
• Experience with orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary patient care is helpful
• Comfortable using Cerner PowerChart and standard inpatient documentation systems

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation and care plan development in acute care
• Therapeutic interventions and acute care physical therapy techniques
• Safe patient handling and use of lifting equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove)
• Strong clinical communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Proficient documentation skills in Cerner PowerChart
• Ability to manage 1:1 patient caseloads and prioritize in a busy hospital environment
