Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality PCU/stepdown nursing care, performing thorough patient assessments and creating individualized care plans
• Continuously monitor telemetry and respond promptly to changes in patient status
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, following hospital protocols
• Document patient care and chart in Meditech with attention to detail and timeliness
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
• Act quickly and effectively in emergencies, using ACLS/BLS skills as needed
• Support unit workflow by mentoring colleagues and assisting with patient throughput and discharges

Qualifications

• Active TX RN license required (temporary licenses will not be accepted)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of hospital experience
• Minimum 2 years of specialty experience in telemetry/PCU/stepdown (preferred)
• Meditech experience preferred
• Comfort with rotating weekends and call responsibilities

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• PCU/stepdown clinical skills and patient assessment
• Strong documentation skills in Meditech
• Critical thinking and rapid clinical decision-making
• Clear communication and teamwork in multidisciplinary settings
• Ability to manage multiple complex patients safely
