Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the circulator and surgeon by preparing and passing instruments and supplies promptly and safely
• Maintain a sterile field and enforce sterile technique throughout procedures to protect patient safety
• Prepare the operating room, instruments, and equipment before cases and ensure efficient turnover between cases
• Anticipate surgical team needs and proactively support workflow to improve patient outcomes
• Comply with all applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and hospital policies governing surgical care
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond professionally and promptly when needed

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent training
• Current Surgical Technologist certification (CST) preferred or relevant state credential
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willingness to obtain
• Hands-on experience in the operating room with demonstrated sterile technique
• Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and adaptable scheduling
• Knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations and infection control practices

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program; CST or relevant state credential preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven sterile technique and surgical assisting skills
• Familiarity with OR instrumentation, setup, and turnover procedures
• Strong patient care orientation and attention to detail
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and communicate clearly with the surgical team
• Understanding of regulatory compliance and safety protocols
