Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions to residents at the Eastern Montana Veterans Home
• Perform thorough assessments of daily living skills and functional abilities
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote independence and safety
• Collaborate with nursing, PT, SLP and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate holistic care
• Document progress and outcomes accurately and timely in the patient record
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train residents and caregivers in safe use
• Monitor, adjust, and communicate changes in resident status to ensure high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential
• Active and valid Montana state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Experience or strong interest in geriatric or veterans care preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team-focused environment

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL/IADL assessment and training
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment and home/facility safety recommendations
• Proficient documentation and clinical charting skills
• Ability to develop meaningful, client-centered treatment plans
• Comfortable working within an interdisciplinary care team
