Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to PCU patients, focusing on safety and positive outcomes
• Perform thorough patient assessments and respond to changes in condition with clinical confidence
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, following facility protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to identify and escalate concerns promptly
• Document patient care clearly and efficiently in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans, and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or compact RN license (required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience (PCU/acute care preferred)
• Experience working with telemetry and progressive care patients
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Ability to pass required facility screenings and meet travel assignment credentialing timelines

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of accredited nursing program and active RN licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in telemetry monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms
• Skilled in medication administration, IV therapy, and pump management
• Excellent patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Strong documentation and EMR charting abilities
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
• Adaptability to new settings and quick integration with unit staff
