Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert nutrition assessments and develop individualized care plans for inpatient adults
• Perform Nutrition-Focused Physical Exams (NFPE) and document findings in Epic
• Write and manage enteral and parenteral (TPN) nutrition orders with clinical precision
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, respiratory, pharmacy and social services to optimize patient outcomes
• Monitor labs, adjust nutrition interventions, and identify nutrition therapy complications early
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic diets, dysphagia management, and diabetes nutrition
• Float between Sacred Heart Medical Center and Holy Family Hospital as needed, maintaining continuity of care

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian (RD or RDN) required
• WA DOH-CD license required (in hand preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient adult Registered Dietitian experience (hardstop); recent experience within past 6 months preferred
• Proficiency with Epic charting required
• Demonstrated experience with enteral nutrition and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) order writing
• Competency in Nutrition-Focused Physical Exam (NFPE) and nutrition assessment
• Ability to float between facilities and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Knowledge & Skills

• Inpatient acute care nutrition and therapeutic diet orders
• Enteral nutrition (tube feedings) and TPN management
• Nutrition assessment and NFPE skills
• Lab monitoring (blood glucose/A1C, lipid panels, acid/base balance)
• Wound care nutrition, dialysis/CRRT nutrition considerations, and complex metabolic cases
• Experience with Epic electronic charting and clinical documentation
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
