Shift Type: Night shifts, 3x12-hour nights per week (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), 36 hours/week; manager-scheduled with every other weekend required. Night coverage may float to ED and MedSurg as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult medical/surgical and PCU-level patients in the ED holding area
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to guide timely interventions
• Manage lines, tubes, and complex interventions including PICC care, central line blood draws, and feeding tube management
• Administer and monitor blood products, heparin and insulin protocols safely
• Operate unit systems and document care accurately in Epic and use Pyxis for medication management
• Collaborate with ED, respiratory, pharmacy, and rapid response teams to optimize patient flow and safety
• Respond confidently to rapid responses and participate in emergency/storm team assignments when required
• Maintain isolation precautions and infection control practices for patient and staff safety

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN clinical experience (MS/Tele or PCU experience strongly preferred)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty
• Comfortable caring for high-acuity adult med/surg and PCU-level patients and floating to ED/MedSurg areas
• Ability to work night shifts and participate in storm/hurricane team response as needed
• Flu vaccination required per facility policy (medical/religious exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias, including remote and unit-based telemetry
• Cardiac monitoring systems, IV therapy, PICC and peripheral line management
• Tracheostomy care, non-invasive airway management, CPAP/BiPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) and oxygen delivery devices
• Experience with Epic charting, Pyxis medication systems, and SBAR communication
• Experience with chest tube management, wound care/Wound Vac, and feeding tube management
• Use of rapid response/code teams and emergency response protocols
