Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients quickly and accurately on arrival to the Emergency Department
• Provide timely, evidence-based nursing care for acute and critical conditions
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate patient flow
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress clearly and professionally
• Prioritize and triage effectively during high-acuity and high-volume periods
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care
• Contribute to a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and compassionate care

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license (New Hampshire license or Nurse Licensure Compact as applicable)
• Minimum clinical experience in Emergency Department nursing preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS encouraged or preferred
• Current certifications and training as required by facility (e.g., trauma/triage courses)
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and handle high-acuity patients

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in ED triage, rapid assessment, and emergency interventions
• Skilled with IV therapy, medication administration, and basic procedures
• Comfortable interpreting EKGs and recognizing acute cardiac changes
• Excellent documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records
• Strong communication, teamwork, and crisis management abilities
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound clinical decisions
