Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nurse in charge
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Document resident observations and care provided in a clear, timely manner
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure each resident’s plan of care is followed
- Create a warm, friendly environment that promotes resident comfort and independence
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (or eligible to obtain certification) — state-recognized
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Compassionate approach and strong patient-focused attitude
- Reliable attendance and ability to work assigned shifts
- Previous long-term care or clinical experience preferred but new CNAs are welcome
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completed state-approved CNA training program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, infection control practices
- Strong communication and teamwork skills when working with residents and staff
- Accurate documentation and attention to detail
- Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
- Awareness of safety protocols and safe resident handling techniques
