Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition promptly
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes clearly in the chart/EHR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate excellent care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
• Maintain unit safety, infection control and compliance with hospital policies

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license (Georgia license or compact RN preferred)
• Clinical experience or training in Med/Surg nursing (core skill requirement)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS or other advanced certifications a plus
• Comfort and ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and provide focused, sustained care
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills and teamwork mindset
• Ability to accurately document in electronic health records

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred where available
• Completion of an accredited nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and patient assessment
• Medication administration and IV/infusion experience
• Familiarity with wound care, post-op care and common medical-surgical conditions
• Proficient documentation skills in EHR systems
• Critical thinking, time management and prioritization under busy clinical conditions
• Collaborative communication with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams
