Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Oncology
Location: Newnan, GA
Start Date: 04-08-2026
End Date: 07-08-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Tuesday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Day, 4x10); rotating after-hours on-call and weekends
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $70 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform PET, SPECT/CT and general nuclear medicine exams accurately and compassionately for adult and geriatric oncology patients
- Prepare, handle and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely, following all radiation safety and disposal protocols
- Support therapeutic nuclear procedures including Y-90, Lu-177 (Pluvicto/Lutathera) and I-131 with meticulous attention to patient safety
- Operate and maintain Siemens imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Provide excellent patient care including starting and maintaining IVs, drawing venous blood and monitoring patients during procedures
- Document exams and treatments thoroughly in EPIC, ensuring clear, timely charting
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including radiology, phlebotomy and rapid response to optimize patient outcomes
- Participate in rotating on-call and weekend coverage to support continuous patient care
Qualifications
- BLS certification required
- 2 years of nuclear medicine experience required (will accept first-time travelers)
- EPIC charting experience required
- Experience with Siemens PET and SPECT/CT equipment required
- Therapeutic experience or familiarity with Y-90, Lu-177 and I-131 highly desirable
- Certifications preferred: ARRT(N), CNMT, NMTCB, PET certification
Education
- Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technologist program or equivalent (preferred)
- Certifications such as ARRT(N), CNMT or NMTCB preferred; BLS required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven skills in PET, SPECT/CT and general nuclear medicine procedures
- Nuclear cardiology experience including myocardial stress testing
- Proficiency with HIDA, MUGA, bone scans (3-phase/limited/whole body) and liver imaging
- Experience with gastric emptying studies, DTPA aerosol, perfusion and ventilation/perfusion imaging
- Strong radiation safety knowledge and radioactive materials handling
- Comfortable with IV starts, venipuncture and patient isolation precautions
- Ability to perform tumor localization scans and work with oncology patient populations
