Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and mobility
Take and document vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
Maintain a clean, comfortable environment for residents and adhere to infection control practices
Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families and the interdisciplinary care team
Document care thoroughly and promptly to ensure continuity and quality of care

Qualifications

Active CNA certification in New York State (required)
Current CPR/BLS certification (or willing to obtain)
Reliable immunization and TB screening records per facility policy
Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach
Prior experience in long-term care or related settings preferred but new grads welcome

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an approved CNA training program and active NY certification

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of basic nursing care and infection prevention
Ability to safely assist with transfers and use of mobility equipment
Solid patient observation skills and ability to notice/report changes
Comfortable with electronic or paper documentation systems
Compassionate bedside manner and de-escalation skills when needed
