Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered pediatric nursing care for up to a 1:3 patient ratio
• Deliver safe, high-quality treatment and monitoring for children and adolescents
• Support family involvement through rooming-in and clear, empathetic communication
• Float to med/surg or postpartum units as needed while maintaining standards of care
• Collaborate with respiratory, IV therapists and Family Birthplace staff to ensure quick backup and smooth care
• Follow hospital policies and maintain required documentation and skills checklists

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license (must be uploaded with profile)
• Minimum 3 years current pediatric nursing experience (required)
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications (must be uploaded)
• Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred — please note on profile
• Adult medical-surgical experience preferred (for float coverage)
• BSN preferred
• Traveler must have own vehicle and permanent address included in profile
• Must NOT reside within 50 miles of the facility (client will not consider local travelers)
• Agency submissions must include your AGENCY Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License (Nursing Pool) uploaded with traveler profile

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric patient assessment and age-appropriate interventions
• Family-centered care and rooming-in practices
• Managing a 1:3 pediatric patient ratio safely
• Flexibility to float between Pediatrics, Med/Surg and Postpartum
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse (preferred)
• Strong communication, teamwork and emergency response skills
• Comfort working in a very small unit with limited onsite backup
