Location: St. Louis, MO
Start Date: 04-06-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: RN - PACU (Peds), 4-hour shift (no break), orientation required. Specific start/end times and days of week not provided in the posting.
Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients in PACU
- Continuously monitor vital signs, assess airway and pain, and intervene as needed
- Administer medications and IV therapies per protocol and provider orders
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the interdisciplinary team for safe handoffs
- Educate families on recovery expectations and discharge instructions in a clear, caring way
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately and timely
- Respond rapidly to changes in patient status and escalate concerns to appropriate team members
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact RN eligible
- BLS required; PALS and ACLS preferred or strongly encouraged
- Experience in PACU or pediatric post-anesthesia care preferred
- Current immunizations and ability to pass required background and health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Pediatric-focused post-anesthesia assessment and monitoring
- IV medication administration and pediatric pain management
- Airway support basics and rapid recognition of complications
- Effective communication with families and interdisciplinary teams
- Accurate clinical documentation and time management in a fast-paced setting
