Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the operating room, ensuring safety and comfort before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs to coordinate efficient and effective surgeries
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and maintain sterile field throughout procedures
• Assist with a variety of surgeries including general, orthopedics, gynecology, trauma, neurosurgery, spine, ENT, and bariatrics
• Document patient care accurately in MEDITECH electronic medical record system
• Participate in rotating weekend call to provide 24/7 surgical coverage

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• BSN preferred; candidates with CNOR certification will be considered first
• Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience
• High energy, motivated personality that thrives in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with MEDITECH EMR system
• Knowledge of surgical aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance
• Experience with a wide range of surgical specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, and robotics
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic OR setting
