Physical Therapist - Acute Care

Location: Bryan, TX

Start Date: 07-06-2026

End Date: 09-28-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, plus rotating weekends (2 full weekends per month)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to develop individualized treatment plans
Provide skilled physical therapy interventions to improve mobility, strength, and function
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including PTAs and rehab aides
Document patient progress accurately in Meditech EMR
Participate in weekend and holiday coverage to ensure continuous patient care
Precept new staff or students as needed by the unit

Qualifications

Valid Physical Therapy license in Texas
CPR certification (BLS)
Experience in acute care setting preferred
No direct employment with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in Meditech EMR
Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making in acute care
Ability to manage high patient volume (1 evaluation per hour or 10 treatments per 8-hour shift)
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
