Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans to help patients regain independence
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities tailored to their goals
• Document patient progress and adjust interventions as needed under supervision
• Educate patients and families on techniques to improve daily living skills
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for rehabilitation

Qualifications

• Valid Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license in Massachusetts
• At least 1 year of recent experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with patients and team members
• Willingness to float to different units within the facility as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic exercises and activities for physical rehabilitation
• Ability to document accurately and efficiently using electronic health records
• Time management skills to handle a varied caseload
• Compassion and patience when working with elderly or disabled patients
• Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to patient care
