Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic X-ray, portable, C-arm, and fluoroscopic procedures with precision
• Review patient history and ensure appropriate orders and labs are in range
• Educate patients about procedures to ease anxiety and ensure cooperation
• Select and operate imaging equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images
• Position patients to best demonstrate anatomy while ensuring comfort and safety
• Apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure to patients, self, and others
• Process and review images for proper identification and quality control
• Document all procedure details in EMR and PACS, including medication reconciliation
• Assist radiologists during fluoroscopic and special X-ray exams
• Prepare and administer contrast media as directed
• Provide practical instruction to radiography students and new technologists
• Operate mobile equipment in OR, ER, or at bedside as needed

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
• ARRT Radiography registration required
• IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required (Illinois)
• Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
• Strong knowledge of radiation safety and ALARA principles
• Proficiency with PACS and electronic medical records

Education

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology

• Diagnostic imaging procedures including X-ray, fluoroscopy, and C-arm
• Contrast media administration
• PACS and EMR systems like Point Click
• Expert-level troubleshooting of imaging equipment
