Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating day and night 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide intermediate care and monitor downgraded CVICU patients in a fast-paced cardiovascular unit
Titrate and manage critical drips including amiodarone, nitro, nicardipine, and epinephrine
Support thoracic surgery, electrophysiology, and structural heart programs
Collaborate with charge nurse and interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Interpret telemetry strips and respond to changes in patient condition
Float to units of same or lower acuity as needed

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in cardiovascular or intermediate care nursing
Valid driver's license for verification of address (must reside outside 50-mile radius)
Willingness to adhere to facility policy: no artificial nails in patient care areas
Ability to pass an open-book exam with 90% during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in titrating vasoactive and antiarrhythmic medications
Strong telemetry interpretation skills
Competence with BiPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannula respiratory support
Excellent assessment and critical thinking abilities
Effective communication and teamwork in a high-acuity environment
