Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient
Location: Bakersfield, CA
Start Date: 06-15-2026
End Date: 09-14-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM; one weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide acute inpatient physical therapy to patients with general medical/deconditioned conditions, post-surgical (TKA, THA, spinal), general ortho, and CVA
- Cover medical/surgical, ICU, and ER units as needed
- Collaborate with the Rehab Services Manager and interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Participate in department-specific orientation to become familiar with systems and protocols
Qualifications
- Active California PT license
- BLS certification
- Acute inpatient PT experience required
- Experience with general medical, ortho, and neuro patient populations preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills
- Ability to manage a caseload of 12+ patients per day
- Proficiency in acute care rehabilitation protocols
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
