Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality care to oncology and telemetry patients on a 32-bed unit
Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret EKGs using Phillips telemetry equipment
Administer chemotherapy treatments and manage complex medication regimens
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including charge nurses, PCTs, and specialty resource RNs
Float to other MedSurg/Tele units as needed to support hospital-wide patient care
Maintain strict sterile technique during procedures such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies

Qualifications

Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Chemo certification preferred
Minimum one year of recent oncology or telemetry experience
Cerner EMR experience strongly preferred
Ability to pass a pre-employment dysrhythmia exam and skills validation

Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of oncology nursing principles and symptom management
Proficient in cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation
Skilled in sterile technique and infection prevention practices
Comfortable floating between similar units and adapting to different patient populations
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
