Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during the night shift
- Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor for changes in condition
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time
- Document patient care and clinical findings clearly in the chart
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, coordinated care
- Assist with admissions, discharges and transfers as needed to keep the unit running smoothly
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina RN or LPN license (RN preferred for this title)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred for certain units
- Comfortable working the 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM night shift
- Prior acute care or med-surg experience preferred (0-2 years acceptable for some roles)
- Current immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening
Education
- LPN: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (diploma/certificate)
- RN: ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and monitoring skills
- Medication administration and safe documentation practices
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced setting
- Prioritization and critical-thinking under night-shift conditions
