Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 6:00 AM, every other weekend and holidays required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients with CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and CKD on a busy 18-bed telemetry unit
Monitor cardiac rhythms and confidently read telemetry strips to keep patients safe
Administer medications and manage non-titratable drips while collaborating with the care team
Support patients using CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy
Float to other med/surg units as needed, bringing your skills wherever they're needed most
Communicate clearly with patients, families, and colleagues to coordinate seamless care

Qualifications

Active Texas or compact RN license
Current BLS certification
Strong communication and time-management skills
Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
Comfortable floating to multiple med/surg units

Knowledge & Skills

Telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
Care for patients with CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and CKD
Managing CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen patients
Working collaboratively with charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse educators
Adapting quickly when floating to other med/surg units
