Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM and 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, every 3rd weekend and 3rd holiday

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Float between MedSurg and ER to deliver compassionate, high-quality care across both units
Admit, discharge, and transfer patients while maintaining excellent continuity of care
Titrate critical drips including insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, and levophed with precision and safety
Start IVs, manage PICC lines and ports, and respond swiftly to codes and traumas
Read and interpret your own telemetry strips and complete EKGs using Mindray monitors
Collaborate directly with hospitalists and work independently in a close-knit, 24-hour nursing department

Qualifications

Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
Minimum one year of ER experience strongly preferred
Comfortable working independently with minimal staffing support
Experience with Meditech EMR is a plus
Ability to adapt quickly and handle a wide range of patient acuities

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and critical thinking skills across med-surg and emergency settings
Proficient with titratable drips, IV starts, and line management
Confident responding to cardiorespiratory, stroke, and sepsis codes
Familiarity with EMTALA regulations and flight transport coordination
Ability to read telemetry strips and perform EKGs independently
