Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on Med/Surg units with pediatric populations
- Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient status, escalating changes promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in the patient record
- Support orientation activities and mentor new team members as needed
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license in California or eligibility to obtain one
- Experience working in Med/Surg and pediatric nursing settings preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; PALS or pediatric certifications preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and pediatric care
- Proficiency in patient assessment, medication administration, and bedside procedures
- Comfort with family-centered care and pediatric patient communication
- Good documentation practices and attention to detail
- Strong teamwork, time management, and prioritization skills
