Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg unit
Assess patients and develop individualized care plans that improve outcomes
Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy safely and accurately
Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate appropriately
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive care
Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EHR clearly
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
Contribute to unit-level quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (LA license preferred)
Experience or training in Medical-Surgical nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and PALS a plus
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Comfortable with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Medical-Surgical patient assessment and documentation
Medication administration and IV therapy
Post-op and medical patient monitoring
Infection control and safety best practices
Effective interdisciplinary communication
Time management and prioritization in a busy unit
