Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $84 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to laboring mothers and newborns in a fast-paced L&D unit
Circulate C-sections and support safe surgical deliveries alongside the OB team
Monitor fetal heart rates and respond quickly to any changes in patient condition
Float between L&D, postpartum, and NICU to support moms and babies across the unit
Collaborate with charge nurses, OB techs, and physicians to deliver excellent outcomes
Educate families on newborn care, postpartum recovery, and breastfeeding support

Qualifications

Active California RN license
BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
Fetal monitoring certification (AWHONN intermediate or advanced)
2-3 years of recent L&D experience
Prior travel contract experience preferred
Ability to circulate C-sections and care for postpartum patients

Knowledge & Skills

Strong fetal monitoring interpretation
Cerner EMR proficiency
Excellent communication with Spanish-speaking families
Comfortable floating between L&D, postpartum, and NICU
Team-oriented with a calm presence during high-risk deliveries
