Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 06-22-2026

End Date: 09-28-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM start with variable shift lengths, plus rotating call coverage including weekends and holidays

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $98 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist surgeons as the first assistant during a wide range of procedures
Provide expert support across ortho, robotics, neuro, GYN, urology, vascular, and general surgery cases
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth case flow and patient safety
Float between campuses as needed to support operational demands
Respond to call within 30 minutes when scheduled
Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR

Qualifications

Active RN license with RNFA certification
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Strong experience in ortho, robotics, neuro, and GYN specialties
Robotics experience is essential
Ability to scrub and assist in the operating room
Comfortable with call rotation and floating between campuses

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient with Cerner electronic medical records
Skilled in first assisting across multiple surgical specialties
Strong understanding of robotic systems and advanced surgical techniques
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and call requirements
