Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts; every other weekend; holidays as needed

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $69 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, delivery, and postpartum patients in a Level 3 high-risk facility
Perform vaginal exams, internal monitor placement, and manage high-risk labor and delivery patients
Circulate and recover C-section patients in the operating suite
Titrate drips including Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, Insulin, and Heparin
Float to postpartum unit as needed to provide couplet care
Read and interpret fetal monitor strips using Cerner EFM system
Collaborate with charge nurse, surgical techs, and secretaries to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nevada or compact state
Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience preferred
Must be independent and confident in vaginal exams, internal monitor placement, and high-risk labor/delivery
Ability to circulate and recover C-sections independently
Comfortable titrating drips and managing high-risk medications
Willingness to float to postpartum as needed

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in fetal monitoring and EFM interpretation (Cerner)
Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios
Skills in antepartum care, postpartum care, and couplet care
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
ACLS, BLS, AFM, and NRP certifications required
