Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced ICU float pool environment
• Float across multiple ICU settings (MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU) within Zone 3 covering Denver area hospitals
• Titrate critical drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, insulin, and more
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips independently, as no monitor techs are available
• Collaborate with charge nurses and respiratory therapists to manage ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Adapt quickly to new units and patient assignments, ensuring seamless care transitions

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (3+ years for first-time travelers)
• Prior travel experience preferred but not required
• Active RN license in Colorado or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must be comfortable floating to different acuity levels including PCU/Stepdown and MS-Tele
• Ability to live outside the 60-mile radius from each facility, as this is a travel assignment

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in titration of critical drips
• Experience with Epic charting system
• Strong telemetry interpretation skills
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients including CRRT, IABP, and Impella
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in various ICU settings and shift schedules
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
