Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to a diverse mix of ICU patients including MICU, SICU, TICU, and CVICU
• Manage ventilators, titrate critical drips (pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, insulin), and perform advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Float across multiple hospitals within Zone 1 (Colorado Springs area) as needed
• Interpret telemetry strips independently; respond to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with charge nurses, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience (3+ years if first-time traveler)
• Active Colorado RN license or compact license
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Comfortable titrating all critical drips and managing complex ICU equipment
• Epic experience preferred
• Ability to float within a 60-mile zone and adapt to different facility protocols

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in critical care nursing, ventilator management, and telemetry interpretation
• Proficient in intravenous therapy, hemodynamic monitoring, and titration of intravenous drips
• Strong prioritization and communication skills in high-acuity settings
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record system
