Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, rotating days/nights; includes every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics
Manage critical patients including trauma, chest pain, stroke, and medical emergencies
Administer and titrate vasoactive drips such as Levophed, Cardene, and Nitro
Assist with procedures including chest tubes, central lines, and rapid transfusions
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, midlevels, and techs
Float between Bryan and College Station campuses as needed (16 minutes apart)

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience in a similar volume and trauma level facility
Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (83%) before contract start (3 attempts allowed)
Not directly employed by CommonSpirit (CHI/Dignity) within the past year
Comfortable floating and precepting as needed

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in emergency nursing and trauma care
Proficiency in BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
Strong dysrhythmia interpretation skills
Ability to triage and prioritize care in a fast-paced environment
Experience with EMR systems (PulseCheck or Picis)
