Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver expert emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population in a high-volume Level 1 Trauma Center
• Triage and stabilize patients with acute conditions, including trauma, burns, and cardiac emergencies
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, midlevels, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care
• Manage patient ratios of 1:4 in a fast-paced environment with 88,000 annual visits
• Float between multiple campuses and free-standing ERs within 30 minutes of each other
• Utilize Cerner EMR and Philips telemetry monitoring to document and track patient progress
• Participate in SIMs lab training to maintain competency in Foley catheter insertion, central line dressing changes, and port-a-cath insertion

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of ER experience with a minimum of 6 months in a Level 1 Trauma center
• Valid RN license in Arizona (or compact license) - must include DL as source of truth for radius rule
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (ENPC does not replace PALS)
• TNCC and ATCN certifications strongly preferred
• Comfortable with Cerner EMR and Philips telemetry strip reading
• Willingness to pass a pass/fail DYS exam (2 attempts allowed) and a day 1 SIMs lab exam
• Must have own vehicle for floating between facilities
• Natural hair color, no facial piercings, and clean shave for fit test required

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in trauma nursing and emergency care protocols
• Proficient in sterile technique for central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertion
• Ability to manage psychiatric holds (30-40 per shift) with compassion and safety
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with RT, Pharmacy, and IV Team
• Flexibility to float midshift between four facilities in the Phoenix area
• Understanding of pass/fail expectations and commitment to high standards
