Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for Emergency Department and inpatient hold patients, managing acuity and ratios with confidence
• Triage, assess, and prioritize patient needs to ensure timely and safe care transitions
• Coordinate care with ED and inpatient teams to maintain continuity and throughput
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly
• Monitor and manage patient acuity/ratios, escalating concerns to leadership as needed
• Participate in Trinity Specialty competency testing and maintain required skills checklists
• Adhere to infection control, safety policies, and unit-specific procedures

Qualifications

• Active RN license with verification required
• Current BLS, PALS, ACLS and TNCC certifications
• Experience in Emergency Department nursing and inpatient hold care
• Ability to manage acuity and patient ratios for ED and hold areas
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Required health screenings and immunizations (fit test, respirator eval, Tdap, COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, influenza, PPD/IGRA, Varicella)
• Successful Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen and physical/health statement

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and emergency intervention skills
• Acuity-based staffing and ratio management experience
• Efficient clinical decision-making in high-paced ED environments
• Excellent communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary teams
• Accurate clinical documentation and familiarity with hospital policies
• Comfort with competency testing and ongoing skills validation
