Shift Type: 09:00 AM - 2:00 AM (next day), every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert emergency nursing care to a diverse patient mix, including trauma, cardiac, pediatric, and geriatric cases
Triage patients efficiently in a fast-paced Level III Trauma Center with primary stroke capabilities
Administer critical drips such as Cardene, Levophed, and sedation agents
Assist with advanced procedures like chest tubes, rapid transfusions, and intubations
Float between Bryan and College Station campuses as needed to support staffing
Collaborate with a dedicated team including MDs, midlevels, and techs in a shared governance environment

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience in a similar volume and trauma level facility
Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (83%) before start - three attempts allowed
Active BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
Willingness to float to College Station campus (16 minutes away)

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia management
Experience with common ER drips: Diltiazem, Cardene, Nitro, Propofol, Fentanyl, Levophed
Strong skills in trauma resuscitation and rapid assessment
Comfortable with pediatric patients (10-15% of caseload)
Ability to precept new staff when needed
