Location: Albany, New York

End Date: 05-17-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM with on-call shifts 4:00 PM - 7:00 AM (8-10 shifts per month)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $76 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist surgeons and interventional radiologists during complex cardiac and vascular procedures
Prepare operating room tables, tools, and equipment to ensure seamless surgical experiences
Maintain strict sterility and safety standards before, during, and after every procedure
Provide compassionate emotional support to patients and families throughout their surgical journey
Collaborate with circulating nurses to monitor vitals and assess patient well-being
Document surgical details accurately in electronic health records
Perform thorough postoperative counts to ensure patient safety

Qualifications

Active RN license in New York
BLS certification required
Previous scrub nurse experience in vascular and cardiac surgery preferred
CNOR certification preferred
Strong organization, time management, and critical-thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in CVOR scrub techniques and sterile field management
Knowledge of cardiac and vascular surgical procedures
Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and respond quickly in high-pressure situations
Proficiency with electronic health record documentation
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
