Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, with rotating weekends (3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert care to critically ill cardiac and thoracic surgery patients in a fast-paced CVICU/CTICU setting
Monitor and manage complex devices such as IABP, CRRT, ECMO, and ventilators
Collaborate with intensivists and a dedicated team to deliver life-saving interventions
Perform and assist with bedside procedures including bronchoscopy, Swan-Ganz catheter insertion, and epidural management
Maintain sterile field during central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertion
Float to other ICUs and telemetry units as needed, ensuring high-quality patient care across the hospital

Qualifications

Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience, preferably CVICU
Level I Trauma experience required
Strong IV skills and ability to maintain sterile technique
CCRN preferred
Experience with IABP, CRRT, ECMO, or CABG recovery highly desired

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of cardiac surgery recovery and monitoring
Proficiency in telemetry and Philips monitoring systems
Skill in using Cerner EMR
Ability to work in a high-acuity environment with 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to float to different units and adapt quickly
