Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care to cardiovascular patients in a 16-bed CICU
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamics, including PA catheter setup and management
• Titrate vesicant medications, vasopressors, sedation, and paralytics
• Manage ventilators, trachs, and advanced cardiac devices like IABP, Impella, and CRRT
• Perform and assist with cardioversion, transvenous pacing, chest tube insertions, and TEE
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of RNs in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina (or compact license)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience, with CVICU preferred
• Experience with titrating vasoactive medications and managing ventilators
• Comfort with telemetry interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring
• Ability to float to all areas as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics
• Skilled in ventilator and tracheostomy management
• Experienced in telemetry interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring
• Knowledge of PA catheter setup and interpretation
• Familiarity with IABP, Impella, CRRT (desirable)
• Competent in transvenous pacing, cardioversion, and chest tube maintenance
