Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic exams with patient comfort and safety as a priority
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring optimal image quality
• Position patients accurately and apply radiation safety principles at all times
• Review images for technical quality and coordinate with radiologists for diagnostic clarity
• Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures in the electronic record
• Collaborate professionally with the care team to support efficient patient flow
• Adhere to infection control and facility policies to protect patients and staff
• Contribute to a positive patient experience through clear communication and compassion

Qualifications

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) registration or equivalent certification preferred
• Louisiana state radiologic technologist licensure, or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain
• Clinical experience in diagnostic radiography preferred
• Comfortable positioning a wide range of patients and lifting/transferring as needed
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
• Willingness to participate in continuing education to maintain competencies

Education

• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
• ARRT certification (or in progress)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of human anatomy and radiographic positioning
• Familiarity with PACS, RIS, and common electronic medical record systems
• Understanding of radiation safety principles (ALARA) and best practices
• Ability to troubleshoot imaging equipment and escalate issues appropriately
• Attention to detail for producing diagnostically useful images
• Teamwork, empathy, and clear communication with patients and staff
