Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient
Location: Bakersfield, California
Start Date: 05-27-2026
End Date: 08-26-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shifts, one weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional physical therapy care to 12+ patients daily across medical-surgical, ICU, and ER units
- Help patients recover from joint replacements, spinal surgeries, strokes, and general medical conditions
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to create personalized treatment plans
- Support patients through their most vulnerable moments in acute care settings
- Document progress and adjust interventions to maximize recovery outcomes
- Mentor and guide patients and families through the rehabilitation journey
Qualifications
- Current California PT license required
- BLS certification needed
- Acute Inpatient PT experience is essential
- Comfortable working across medical-surgical, ICU, and ER settings
- Strong clinical skills with diverse patient populations including ortho and neuro cases
Knowledge & Skills
- Acute inpatient physical therapy expertise
- Experience with post-surgical joint replacements and spinal procedures
- Stroke rehabilitation knowledge
- Ability to manage deconditioned and general ortho patients
- Strong assessment and treatment planning abilities
