Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and interpret medication orders accurately, ensuring patient safety
• Prepare and dispense medications including sterile compounds, TPN, and limited chemotherapy
• Provide pharmacokinetic dosing and anticoagulation management
• Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians, performing daily activity verification
• Detect and report adverse drug reactions and medication errors in a timely manner
• Manage controlled substances dispensing and record-keeping in compliance with regulations
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement drug therapy protocols

Qualifications

• PharmD or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited program
• Active Florida pharmacist licensure (or ability to obtain before start)
• At least 2 years of recent acute care hospital pharmacy experience
• Experience in sterile compounding, PK dosing, TPN calculations, and Pyxis troubleshooting
• Pediatric pharmacy experience is a plus, but not required
• BLS and ACLS certifications helpful, but not mandatory

Education

• PharmD or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication order verification and CPOE systems
• Sterile compounding following USP 797 and 800 guidelines
• Controlled substance management and regulatory compliance
• Pharmacokinetic dosing for aminoglycosides and vancomycin
• Anticoagulation dosing and antimicrobial stewardship
• Supervision and direction of pharmacy support personnel
• Medication error reporting and adverse drug reaction monitoring
