Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care through inpatient pharmacy functions including order entry and verification
• Check and dispense medications accurately to ensure safe, effective therapy
• Rotate into ambulatory roles as assigned, such as anticoagulation clinic or oncology ambulatory services
• Support patient populations across the lifespan, from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws in all practice activities
• Collaborate positively with pharmacists, technicians, nurses, providers, and other health system staff
• Participate in medication safety initiatives and quality improvement activities
• Work with minimal supervision while escalating complex issues to Pharmacy Manager or Supervisors

Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania pharmacy license or eligible for reciprocation within 90 days of hire
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred
• Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required
• Pharmacy residency preferred if rotating to ambulatory clinics
• Advanced practice certifications preferred for specialty ambulatory roles
• BLS that meets American Heart Association standards if assigned to the Anticoagulation Clinic
• No retail pharmacy experience will be considered for this role

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (required)
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
• Skilled in order verification and medication checking/dispensing
• Experience with inpatient pharmacy workflows and ambulatory clinic practice
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with interdisciplinary staff
• Ability to manage diverse patient populations and clinical priorities
• Comfortable working independently with appropriate escalation to supervisors
