Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM Day shift with call (5x8 day schedule). Weekday call begins at 7:00 PM; weekend call is required and divided into 12-hour blocks. Call is rotated equitably on a 4-week basis.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in the CVOR and related OR settings
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields and specialized cardiovascular/ transplant instrumentation
• Assist the surgical team during complex cardiac, vascular and transplant procedures
• Administer and monitor blood and blood products per protocol
• Document patient care accurately and timely using EPIC
• Respond to codes and emergency situations, following established protocols
• Contribute to infection control, Universal Protocol (time out) and patient safety initiatives
• Participate in call rotation and provide coverage for weekday evenings and weekend blocks

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Ohio (must have valid, unrestricted license)
• Minimum 3 years overall OR experience (HARD STOP) with at least 2 years dedicated cardiac and vascular experience
• Minimum 1 year CVOR experience
• Minimum 1 year experience in a Level I Trauma facility
• BLS required; NIHSS required; ACLS preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiovascular, thoracic, vascular and transplant perioperative knowledge
• Familiarity with CVOR equipment: electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords
• Experience with invasive support devices (LVAD, IABP) and management of ECMO cases
• Competence in vascular and endovascular procedures (EVAR, TEVAR, TAVR, CABG, carotid procedures)
• Robotic surgical systems exposure (Da Vinci Si/SP/Xi) is a plus
• Wound management, urinary bladder catheterization and specimen handling
• Administration and monitoring of blood & blood products
• Strong infection control, Universal Protocol and emergency response skills (code response, malignant hyperthermia, fire safety)
