Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance
• Assist nursing staff with vital signs, specimen collection, and documentation
• Support patient comfort and safety by following care plans and reporting changes promptly
• Help maintain a clean, safe patient environment and follow infection control practices
• Communicate respectfully with patients and families to promote dignity and understanding
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure seamless, patient-centered care transitions
• Participate in shift handoffs and accurate charting to keep the team informed

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (PA certification preferred)
• BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working with diverse patient populations and varying levels of care needs
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
• Ability to follow directions, maintain documentation, and adhere to facility policies
• Prior experience in long-term care, rehab, or acute care settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic patient care techniques and activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Vital signs monitoring and accurate documentation
• Infection prevention and standard precautions
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Strong observation skills and the ability to report changes in condition
• Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks during a shift
• Compassionate bedside manner and patient advocacy
