Roles & Responsibilities

• Serve as the designated Charge Nurse for ICU units, coordinating patient care and staff assignments
• Float across multiple ICU specialties including MICU, SICU, TICU, and CVICU within Zone 3
• Respond to Codes and Rapid Responses throughout the hospital
• Titrate critical drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, and antiarrhythmics
• Interpret telemetry strips and manage respiratory equipment like vents and BiPAP
• Provide high-acuity care for patients on CRRT, IABP, or Impella

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of ICU experience (3+ years for first-time travelers)
• Prior charge nurse experience required
• Current and valid RN license in Colorado or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• Experience with Epic electronic health records preferred
• Willingness to float within a 60-mile radius across multiple facilities

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in titration of critical drips and management of hemodynamic monitoring
• Strong telemetry interpretation skills without monitor tech support
• Experience with CRRT, IABP, and Impella preferred
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities for charge nurse role
• Adaptability to work in various ICU settings and float between units
