Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 nursing care for a middle-school student, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the school day
• Administer G-tube feedings and assist with feeding according to care plans
• Safely perform transfers using a Hoyer lift and manage total dependent care needs
• Monitor health status, recognize changes, and take appropriate action or escalate when needed
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and caregivers to support the student’s educational and health goals
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care, medications, and interventions
• Support behavioral and health plans with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement
• Participate in school meetings and communicate effectively with the care team and family

Qualifications

• Active LPN or RN license in the state of Washington (required)
• Experience providing 1:1 care in school, pediatric, or similar settings preferred
• Demonstrated competency with G-tube feedings and Hoyer lift transfers
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Clear background check and required school health clearances
• Comfort working with total dependent pediatric students and following individualized care plans

Education

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (LPN) or registered nursing program (RN)
• State licensure (LPN or RN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong pediatric nursing skills and school-health experience
• G-tube care and feeding protocols
• Safe patient handling and Hoyer lift operation
• Behavioral support techniques in 1:1 settings
• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Excellent communication and teamwork with educators and families
• Basic familiarity with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and school processes
