Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a 29-bed MedSurg Telemetry unit
• Perform focused patient assessments and create individualized care plans
• Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret rhythm strips, and titrate Amiodarone and Cardizem per orders
• Administer medications safely and collaborate closely with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and the interdisciplinary team
• Manage patient assignments at a 1:4 ratio while prioritizing safety and clinical needs
• Complete orientation Sim Lab and participate in ongoing training to maintain clinical excellence
• Float to other units as needed and communicate effectively with charge nurses and supervisors
• Document care accurately and escalate changes in patient status to physicians and the care team

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
• Minimum 2 years recent MedSurg/Telemetry nursing experience, with practice within the past 6 months
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Ability to read cardiac strips and pass a dysrhythmia exam (exam required within 48 hours of offer; up to 2 attempts for travelers)
• Willingness to complete a pass/fail Sim Lab on orientation day (study guides provided)
• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts with weekend and holiday coverage
• Ability to safely titrate medications per orders and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
• Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• High school diploma or GED as applicable for initial nursing pathway

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition (GE monitor experience a plus)
• Patient assessment, clinical judgment, and individualized care planning
• Medication administration and titration knowledge, including Amiodarone and Cardizem
• Familiarity with Spectralink phone/call light systems and central monitoring workflows
• Team coordination with PCTs, SWAT nurses, RT, and pharmacy
• Time management, delegation, and accurate documentation best practices
• Comfort with simulation labs and hands-on skills validation
