Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents and support their daily living needs
• Assist nursing staff with vital signs, basic treatments, and accurate documentation
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Communicate changes in resident condition promptly and collaborate with the care team
• Support mobility, transfers, and safe ambulation while encouraging independence
• Deliver warm, respectful interactions that promote dignity and well-being

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required)
• Active state authorization or ability to obtain CNA practice in New Mexico
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Minimum clinical experience in long-term care or similar setting preferred
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB test per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• CNA certificate or state-approved nursing assistant program completion
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable with 12-hour overnight shifts and the routines of long-term care
• Good observational skills to notice changes in residents and report them quickly
• Familiarity with basic charting and electronic documentation systems
• Ability to assist with ADLs, transfers, and safe patient handling
• Calm under pressure and skilled at providing compassionate care
