Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room and instruments for surgical procedures with precision
Maintain a sterile field and uphold strict infection control practices
Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons smoothly and proactively
Verify surgical counts and assist with patient positioning and safety measures
Document procedures and communicate clearly with the surgical team
Participate in orientation and unit-specific training to ensure consistency

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent training
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained upon hire
Prior OR experience is a strong plus and appreciated
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment and collaborate with the team

Education

Diploma or Associate degree in Surgical Technology or completion of an accredited surgical technologist program

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, supplies and sterile technique
Familiarity with operating room protocols and patient safety procedures
Good manual dexterity and attention to detail
Clear communication and teamwork skills
Ability to document accurately in electronic charting systems
